12 March, 2007
A unique initiative in the name of ‘Crime Stoppers’, was experimentally mooted on 12th March 2007 inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice G. S. Singhvi, the then Chief Justice, Andhra Pradesh High Court and Hon’ble Justice M. Jagannadha Rao, Chairman, Law Commission of India (lighting the lamp after garlanding the photo of Mahatma Gandhi). The UNODC Chief of India, Mr. Gary Lewis and Crime Stoppers Heads of US, UK, Canada, Australia, Netherlands and others have participated. Crime stoppers in India served its objective of collecting crime – criminal – crime scene related information from the public anonymously, but the concerned Government Departments could not effectively and constructively utilize the information for prevention, control and detection of crime and corruption.

A national seminar on ‘The Need for Independent FSL’s in India’ was conducted at Hyderabad on 2nd October 2007 as a prelude to establishing Truth Labs. This was presided over by Hon’ble Justice M. Jagannadha Rao, Chairman, Law Commission of India and keynote address by Dr. Palle Rama Rao, Former Secretary, Dept. of S&T, Govt. of India and Veteran Forensic Scientist, Prof. P. Chandra Sekharan and just retired IGP & Director, Dr. Gandhi P C Kaza, presented their viewpoints besides several retired Directors of Central & State FSL’s and Judges. This path-breaking initiative was unanimously approved by several police, judiciary, advocates and forensic fraternity and elite public representatives.

Truth Labs started in Bangalore commencing operations from its office centrally located in Manipal Centre after a formal inauguration by Justice M. N. Venkatachalaiah, Former Chief Justice, Supreme Court of India.

Spurred on the demand from the commercial capital of India, the 5th Regional Office of Truth Labs was opened in Mumbai, formally inaugurated in presence of eminent police officers and forensic scientists of the state.
23 July, 2014
Truth Labs organised a launch of Forensic Analytical Report on Piracy and Counterfeit Software: Emerging risks and threats to public safety and national security. This was a collaboration project of Truth Labs and Microsoft India at Delhi on 23rd July, 2014. The Report was launched by Dr. Gulshan Rai, Director General, CERT-In in the presence of Dr. Gandhi Kaza, Founder Chairman and other eminent dignitaries in Delhi. The Report was commissioned by Microsoft India.

Dr. Gandhi P C Kaza, Chairman, Truth Labs along with Principal Secretary, Home, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, Mrs. Archana Arora, IAS and Dr. R K Sarin, Director, Delhi FSL while signing the MoU with Delhi Govt. for clearing the pending cases of Delhi FSL by Truth Labs, Delhi experts and all cases were reported by 2017.

Dr. Gandhi PC Kaza, Chairman, Truth Labs has addressed vigilance, security, law enforcement and other allied professionals from government, financial, corporate, commercial and trade organizations across the country organized by ICC, ASIS International, FICCI, CII, etc. In the picture, Dr. Gandhi is seen with other dignitaries at the Homeland Security Conference held in Delhi organized in 2014.

In combating tech-based cybercrimes, Truth Labs has collaborated with Microsoft to carry out nationwide awareness program as a part of capacity building exercise for the police officers of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Delhi, NIA, NCRB, NICFS, Enforcement Directorate, Economic offences Wing.
One such workshop organized in Delhi on 20th June 2016 on ‘HANDLING VOIP BASED CYBER CRIMES’ inaugurated by Dr. Gulshan Rai, National Cyber Security Coordinator, PMO along with Mr. N R Wasan, IPS (Retd.) Former DG, BPR&D, Ms. Betsy Broder from FTC, Washington DC, USA, Mr. Narendra Nath, Dy. Director General, DOT, GOI, Mr. Pawan Duggal, Advocate, Supreme Court of India, Dr. Gandhi P. C. Kaza, Chairman, Truth Labs and Mr. U. Ram Mohan, SP(CID), Cyber Cell, Hyderabad for more than 85 officers from various police departments including 60 from Delhi Police, 3 from Gurgaon Police, 6 from UP Police, 6 from NIA and 6 from NTRO.

Besides judiciary and police, Truth Labs training initiatives also included orientation to forensic science for officers of various banks including IBA, RBI, State Bank of India as well as for insurance officers at National Insurance Academy, ICICI Lombard GICL, Reliance GICL and various universities and colleges across the country. Dr. Manjula Chellur, the then Chief Justice, Mumbai High Court inaugurating the Cyber Security workshop at Maharashtra Judicial Academy attended by more than 400 judicial and prosecution officers of Maharashtra state. Truth Labs have conducted more than 50 forensic science orientation programs for more than 3000 judicial officers in judicial academies of Delhi, Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and many other states.

In order to have its presence in all the metropolitan cities of India and to cater to the needs of eastern parts of the country, the 6th Regional office of Truth Labs was inaugurated at Kolkata in the presence of well-known prosecutors, forensic scientists, media personnel and forensic accounting specialists of Kolkata.
