WHAT QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ARE REQUIRED TO BECOME A FORENSIC INVESTIGATOR?

The basic qualifications and training include a Bachelor of Science in pure science subjects or Forensic Science and a 2-year Masters in Forensic Science (or any other pure science) or a 2-year PG Diploma in Forensic Science (necessary if neither UG nor PG completed in Forensic Science). For more specific jobs (such as a teaching, research, or advanced leadership position), a 3-year Ph.D. or M.Phil. in Forensic Science may be required. Most importantly, in addition to these academic qualifications clearing forensic licensing examinations in chosen field, along with minimum of 2 years of professional training under the supervision of a qualified senior expert/s in the field of forensics, will allow for development of the skills needed.
