HOW MANY STANDARD OR ADMITTED OR SPECIMEN DOCUMENTS / SIGNATURES / HANDWRITINGS NEED TO BE SUBMITTED?

The basic requirement of the ‘Standards’ is that these must contain sufficient common features of signatures, handwritings, printed or typed matter etc. for comparison with same features of characters and their combinations as appearing in ‘Questioned’, to be indicative of the writer’s writing habits or a typing / printing device’s individual defects, during a period or as near thereto as possible when the Questioned Document is supposed to have been executed.

As such for an objective forensic examination of questioned signatures / handwriting on disputed documents, it is preferred to have genuinely admitted signatures / handwriting of the person concerned on atleast 4-5 different undisputed / standard documents executed in routine course of business, preferably of the same / nearby period as that of the disputed documents, procured from various official, legal and banking records.

Also it would be preferred to have the specimen signatures / handwriting collected and certified in an open court or an authorized banking or legal authority in the presence of independent witnesses or alternatively can also be collected by Truth Labs for the purpose.
